Only when we really understand and take actions to embody the relevant requests of the world heritage convention, we may have the opportunity to become one of the world heritage nations if the political factor is no longer a reason which impedes us to become one. Even though Taiwan is neither a member state of UN, nor a supporting state of UNESCO, as a party of the global village, we, world citizens, should understand that learning the regulations and knowledge related to the world heritage convention is our duty and obligation. These world’s properties are shared treasures of human beings therefore, all people of the world should work together to take the responsibility of the conservation and protection of them.

As so far, the world heritage register has listed 788 world heritage items which include 611 cultural heritage items, 154 natural heritage items, and 23 mixed heritage items. The world heritage committee members of UNESCO have been advocating this agreement more than three decades. Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) established “Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage” at its 17th session of the General Conference on November 16th, 1972.

Unfortunately, however, this privilege to exploit generic conventions to create new forms becomes available only to those few who enjoy a certain degree of visibility in the relevant professional community for a wide majority of others, it is more of a matter of apprenticeship in accommodating the expectations of disciplinary cultures. If, on the one hand, it imposes constraints on an uninitiated genre to conform to the conventions and rhetorical expectations of the relevant professional community, on the other hand, it allows an experienced and established writer of the genre to exploit conventions to create new forms to suit specific contexts. Generic knowledge plays an important role in the packing and unpacking of texts used in a wide-ranging institutionalized socio-rhetorical context. In the present study, the research methodology is qualitative and it was performed through content analysis using library studies. Firstly, power and its types and also, those parts of its may include architecture according to sociology were examined and finally, those indicators and elements which can be referred as the elements of power in architecture, were recognized and categorized studying global works registered in the UNESCO. The study aimed to recognize the elements of power in architecture. Then, in 1849, John Ruskin introduced The Seven Lamps of Architecture and he almost recognized power as the most important and influential relation between an architectural idea and its observer. This simple structure represented the power of kings through their tombs and it has been gradually more complex. In this study, “power in political sociology” has been discussed and according to Bertrand Russell, power has been interpreted on the basis of its effects and in this perspective, it is dated past and it has made its way within architecture over the timed and it was initially proposed for monumental architecture. However, according to sociologists, power refers to various perspectives. Whenever man defines power, it means the condition that the individual would be able to do something with it.
